Whimsy Wings & Things - Kathryn's newest passion!
Hand-sculpted angels, dogs, cats, flowers, and all sorts of whimsical things—created to bring joy, stir the soul, and perhaps help you rediscover a little of your own magic.
Sometimes creativity takes you somewhere you never expected to go.
After years of painting, I discovered clay—and something in me came alive. I had never sculpted before. I am completely self-taught, and yet from the moment I put my hands into this wonderfully quirky medium, ideas began arriving faster than I could make them.
Angels. Flowers. Wings. Hearts. Funny little creatures. Bits of gold. Things that make me smile.
I believe creativity is one of the ways the Spirit moves through my life. My life verse is Galatians 5:25: “If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”
I call myself a Spiritwalker, and when I create, I try to listen—to follow the next nudge, the next idea, the next bit of wonder wherever it leads.
These pieces aren't meant to be perfect. Neither are we.
They are imperfectly beautiful.
Each one is made by my hands, with its own bumps and textures, personality and peculiarities. No two will ever be exactly alike. Each Whimsy Wings & Things sculpture begins and grows by hand, one petal, wing, flower, and wonderfully imperfect detail at a time. Inspired by imagination—and by the beauty, movement, joy, and sacred details I see in God's creation around me—these pieces are meant to be experienced from every angle.
My floral sculptures may be displayed freestanding, hung on a wall, or placed on an easel, bringing texture, dimension, and a bit of whimsy wherever they live.
And as Whimsy Wings & Things continues to unfold, you'll find new little characters joining the family—angels, winged creatures, hearts, flowers, and whatever else the Spirit might whisper next.
My hope is that somewhere among these Whimsy Wings & Things, you find one that makes you smile, touches your heart, or somehow feels as though it was waiting just for you.
